January 8, 2009 - Yesterday, we went on an interview with Mr. Hans Sy, the President of SM Prime Holders. We were two groups - Group 1 and 5. If you can remember, I posted some pictures here in multiply about my adventure at MoA in delivering our request letter for an interview with my groupmates. This will serve as our project for the 3rd Grading Period.
waaah.. I was really HAPPY when I've heard that we were allowed to have an interview with Mr. Hans Sy. Being only a second year high school student and to achieve something THIS big, I feel so honored. Imagine, by the age of 14, I was already able to interview a really prominent business icon? I really AM happy.
So it was like this. At exactly 2:25pm, January 8, 2009, the bell rang as the signal for the dismissal. My groupmates and the other group hurriedly packed their things and said that they were going to our classmate's house which was near the school. After taking care of some business at school, Chris and I packed our things and went to our classmate's house too. After a few minutes of grooming ourselves, we went our way to MoA and rode a jeepney to Baclaran. After alighting the jeep, we rode the Shuttle next. The driver was kind enough to drive us all the way to Building A where Mr. Hans Sy's office was located. It was exactly 4:01pm on my watch when we arrived there. We went inside the gate and the guard talked to asked and asked what our purpose was in coming. We said that we had an appointment with Mr. Hans Sy and then they let us in. The leaders of the two groups were the first to enter the building, while we waited frantically outside. After a few minutes, we were also asked to enter. We were asked to go to a certain room inside the building which probably I won't say where. We were greeted by the Secretaries of Mr. Hans. They instructed us to go inside a conference room. Inside were chairs and a table, paintings, and other things. Then, when Mr. Hans arrived, we stood up and greeted him Good Afternoon. Then the interview began. He is so easy to talk to. Very approachable. Humble. etc... I learned many things from him. He said that there is no replacement in hardwork. In fact, he really did go through a lot of hardwork. Anyways.. after that, he gave us something special and it's a secret. :) hehe.. sorry but I think I can't tell. Maybe some other time. So, after the interview, we said our thanks to Mr. Hans Sy, for his time and patience in answering our questions. But he did say that he liked our questions. :)
After that, we went to a classmate's house because it was his birthday. I think he's really lucky because a lot of good things happened to him on his birthday. He received a gift from II-B(actually it was on "piling" students who contributed and hey. I was part of it.)which was an album of Rihanna. then, our report in biology was graded 93% (I'm his groupmate) and then this interview. I'm really happy for him. After eating, we said goodbye to him and his family and went home. We rode a bus to Baclaran and rode a jeepney home.
So, that's were my story ends. It was quite an adventure. :)
I'm really thankful that Mr. Hans Sy approved our request letters. We didn't even have connections with him, yet he allowed us to have an interview with him despite his hectic schedule. He said that he flies to China every two weeks. :) Actually, he just came from China the other day before our interview.
